🚀 Saman Tunnel — Aether-Powered Local Tunnel

Saman Tunnel is an open-source Android frontend for Aether Core, designed to provide modern tunnel technologies through local SOCKS5 and HTTP CONNECT proxies.

Unlike conventional Android VPN applications, Saman Tunnel does not create a device-wide VPN by itself. Instead, it runs Aether Core in an isolated application process and exposes local proxy endpoints that compatible applications can use.

⚡ Multiple Tunnel Modes

Saman Tunnel supports several Aether connection modes:

• MASQUE over HTTP/3 (QUIC) • MASQUE over HTTP/2 • WireGuard • GOOL

Each mode can be started independently, allowing users to choose the technology that best fits their setup.

🧠 Smart Reconnect

The patched Aether Core includes Smart Reconnect functionality. Previously validated WireGuard, MASQUE and GOOL paths can be reused when suitable, while unstable or unsuitable paths can trigger a fresh connection scan.

This helps simplify reconnecting when network conditions change.

🔌 Local Proxy Endpoints

Once connected, Saman Tunnel provides local endpoints for compatible applications:

• SOCKS5 — 127.0.0.1:1819 • HTTP CONNECT — 127.0.0.1:1820

This makes it possible to use the tunnel with applications that support local proxy configuration.

📱 Native Android Architecture

The Android application runs Aether Core inside an isolated process and uses a foreground service to manage the connection lifecycle. Connection states such as Starting, Connecting, Connected, Degraded and Failed are displayed by the application.

Saman Tunnel requires no root access.

🩺 Connection Health & Diagnostics

Built-in health checks continuously monitor the local proxy connection. The project also provides sanitized diagnostic reports and bounded logs to help users inspect connection status and troubleshoot problems.

🔐 Privacy-Conscious Diagnostics

Diagnostic reports are designed to redact sensitive information such as authorization headers, cookies, tokens, passwords, API keys, private keys, credential-bearing URLs and selected device identifiers before reports are generated.

🛠️ Termux Integration

The project also includes a centralized Saman toolkit for Termux. The "saman" command can control Aether modes, check status, run diagnostics, test connections and manage the Aether runtime.

🌐 Aether Core

Saman Tunnel uses a pinned and patched version of Aether Core, with project-specific improvements for Smart Reconnect and local listener management.

Saman Tunnel is particularly useful when you want to run an Aether-based tunnel locally and let selected proxy-aware applications use it, rather than routing the entire Android device through a system VPN.
