About this app

🌌 Nova — Adaptive Multi-Path Android Connectivity Client

Nova is a free and open-source Android networking client designed around multiple independent connection paths. Instead of relying on a single tunnel technology, Nova combines Cloudflare WARP over AmneziaWG, MASQUE over QUIC, Opera VPN endpoints, Proton VPN profiles, and user-imported VLESS configurations.

The application works without subscriptions, advertising, or telemetry and includes built-in connection profiles, while also allowing users to add their own configurations.

🚀 Multiple Connection Paths

Nova includes several built-in connectivity options:

• Cloudflare WARP over AmneziaWG • MASQUE over QUIC • Opera VPN endpoints in Europe and North America • Proton VPN free nodes

When automatic mode is used, Nova can move between supported built-in paths when a connection becomes unavailable. Users can also select a transport or region manually.

🔗 Import Your Own Configurations

Nova supports importing:

• AmneziaWG profiles • "vless://" links • VLESS with REALITY • XHTTP • WebSocket • gRPC • HTTP Upgrade

Subscriptions can be imported as URL lists, Base64 data, or lists containing metadata in headers.

Imported configurations remain separate from the built-in connection pool, allowing users to choose between the application's built-in routes and their own profiles.

🔀 Split Tunneling & DNS

Nova provides per-application routing rules for split tunneling, allowing selected apps to use the tunnel while others remain outside it.

DNS can also be configured independently, including:

• Standard DNS • DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) • DNS-over-TLS (DoT) • Per-application DNS rules

📡 Gateway Sharing

An Android device running Nova can act as a network gateway for other devices without requiring root access.

Supported clients can connect through HTTP, HTTPS CONNECT, or SOCKS5 on the phone's shared-network interface. This can allow devices such as laptops, TVs, game consoles, and other phones to use the connection.

The gateway currently handles TCP traffic; UDP traffic and some DNS traffic can remain outside this path.

⚡ Connection Verification & Recovery

Nova checks whether a tunnel is actually usable rather than relying only on the Android VPN connection state.

It also handles network changes such as:

• Wi-Fi to mobile-data switching • Temporary signal loss • Hotspot changes • Tunnel recreation and automatic reconnection

This helps maintain connectivity when the underlying Android network changes.

🧩 Modern Networking Core

The project combines several networking components:

• AmneziaWG • MASQUE • Xray-core for VLESS/REALITY • DNS interception and routing • tun2proxy for supported proxy-based traffic

Large subscription lists are processed in a streaming manner to reduce memory usage, with duplicate configurations filtered during import.

🔐 Privacy & Open Source

Nova is released under the GNU GPL-3.0 license. The project states that it does not collect telemetry or transmit usage statistics, and saved log addresses are anonymized.

Nova does not operate its own VPN infrastructure. Built-in routes connect directly to third-party services such as Cloudflare WARP, Opera VPN, and Proton VPN, while imported profiles depend on the user's chosen configuration.

📱 Compatibility

Nova supports Android 7.0 and newer, including phones, tablets, and Android TV devices. Android TV navigation is supported with a remote control.

✨ Nova combines multiple independent tunnel technologies, automatic route selection, VLESS/REALITY support, split tunneling, custom DNS, and gateway sharing into one flexible Android connectivity client.

What's new

v1.32.6Oct 5, 2026
