Aether+

🌐 Aether+ — Advanced Anti-Censorship VPN Client

Aether+ is an open-source Android VPN and network-circumvention client based on Aether, with additional integration for Psiphon and Tor. It combines automatic endpoint discovery, multiple tunneling methods, configurable routing and optional chained connections in a native Android interface.

🔐 Multiple Transport Methods

Aether+ supports several connection methods through its integrated Aether engine:

• MASQUE over HTTP/3 • MASQUE over HTTP/2 • WireGuard • Nested WireGuard (Gool) • Psiphon • Tor

The application can automatically select a suitable transport or expose advanced options for users who need more control over their connection.

🔎 Endpoint Discovery

Aether+ can scan for reachable endpoints instead of requiring users to manually enter an endpoint.

Available scan modes include:

• Turbo — prioritizes finding a responding endpoint quickly • Precise — compares available candidates • Ultra — performs an actual traffic check before accepting an endpoint

Users can also manually select an endpoint or provide custom IP ranges for scanning.

🔗 Connection Chaining

Aether+, when the required cores and assets are included in the APK, supports several combinations:

• Aether • Psiphon • Tor • Psiphon over Aether • Tor over Aether • Tor over Psiphon • Tor over Psiphon over Aether

These chains can provide alternative paths when a single transport is not suitable for a particular network.

📱 VPN & Proxy Modes

The application supports Android's system VPN interface as well as proxy-only operation.

• Device-wide VPN mode • Per-app split tunneling • Proxy-only mode for compatible applications • DNS and MTU configuration • Optional kill switch • IPv6 leak-protection option • Routing controls • Automatic reconnection

Aether+ can also expose SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies for optional sharing with devices on a trusted local network.

📊 Diagnostics & Interface

The app provides live traffic information, connection diagnostics, session history, Quick Settings integration and a home-screen widget.

The interface supports English and Persian, including RTL layout support.

📱 Android

Aether+ supports Android 8.0 and newer (API 26+) and provides ARM64 and 32-bit ARM builds. Root access is not required for the standard Android VPN mode.

⚠️ Important

Aether+ is a connectivity and circumvention client, not a VPN subscription service. It does not guarantee connectivity or anonymity. Performance and reachability depend on the selected transport, network, endpoint and upstream provider. Psiphon/Tor chains may also have additional latency and limitations, including restricted UDP support.

📜 License

Aether+ is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPL-3.0-or-later). It is a modified distribution of Aether Mobile. Bundled components such as Aether, hev-socks5-tunnel, Psiphon, Tor and fonts retain their respective licenses and notices.
