Description: Signal is a common open-source messenger that the developers present as private. Note for those who respect their privacy: * The signal application though open source, but earlier was noticed for backdoors in this code, after which there were some changes in the open source signal code. And we should not forget that we don't know for sure the exact code of signal server. * Signal asks for a phone number. This is questionable, cause why would a private messenger need a phone number? Yes, we can rent a phone number for crypto, from trusted companies, but it does not make the messenger more secure. * One fact to note: in 2018 from signal the passphrase was removed. This also gives the privacy of the messenger to doubt. * There are several suspicious permissions, services present in the official Signal client: com.google.android.c2dm.permission.SEND; com.google.android.gms.auth.api.signin.permission.REVOCATION_NOTIFICATION; android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION; com.google.android.datatransport.runtime.backends.TransportBackendDiscovery; com.google.firebase.messaging.FirebaseMessagingService; com.google.android.gms.auth.api.signin.RevocationBoundService. And that's not the whole list of questionable permissions, activations, services and everything else. * Signal registration sometimes requires google captcha validation. * And many other things that make you doubt Signal's security
