Description
A Visual analysis of defendability of targets. I've developed this application to act as a guide for civil and other protection services, but could also be used for home defense. The app uses the Carver method to assist in mission planning for the protection of target locations. Functions: * Create new missions/select from previous missions * Create new target areas/select from saved target locations * Long tap on map to set location * Reverse geocode location to get street address * Assess target location using Carver method About the Carver Method: The CARVER Matrix is a tool used by professionals in the military, intelligence, and law enforcement fields to assess potential targets based on their value and vulnerability. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use the CARVER Matrix: 1. Define the mission: Begin by defining the mission or objective for which you are using the CARVER Matrix. This will help you focus your analysis and identify the most relevant factors to consider. 2. Identify potential targets: Identify the potential targets that you want to assess using the CARVER Matrix. Targets can be anything from physical infrastructure to individuals or groups. 3. Assign a weight to each factor: The CARVER Matrix considers six factors: Criticality, Accessibility, Recuperability, Vulnerability, Effect, and Recognizability. Assign a weight to each factor based on how important it is to your mission, with the total weight adding up to 100%. 4. Evaluate each factor for each target: For each target, evaluate each factor using a scale of 0-10, with 0 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. Criticality refers to how important the target is to your mission, Accessibility refers to how easy it is to access the target, Recuperability refers to how quickly the target can be repaired or replaced, Vulnerability refers to how easy it is to cause damage to the target, Effect refers to the potential impact of an attack on the target, and Recognizability refers to how easy it is to identify the target. 5. Calculate the score for each target: Multiply the weight assigned to each factor by the score assigned to that factor for each target. Add up the scores for each target to get a total score. 6. Rank the targets: Rank the targets based on their total score, with the highest-scoring target being the most valuable and vulnerable. 7. Analyze the results: Use the results of the CARVER Matrix analysis to inform your decision-making and planning. For example, you may decide to prioritize protecting the most valuable and vulnerable targets or focus on reducing the vulnerability of high-value targets. Using the CARVER Matrix can help you make more informed decisions and prioritize your resources based on the most important and vulnerable targets. With practice, you can become proficient in using this tool to assess potential targets and develop effective strategies to protect them. for more info view the Wikipedia entry here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CARVER_matrix I am willing to change or add functions if the need arises.
